Vela primarily works in drawing, painting, poetry, sound design, and songwriting, and they are currently exploring long-form narrative and animation as well. Growing up in the 90s and 2000s, Vela was both fascinated by computer technology and repelled by it's various incarnations. Their craft primarily focused on creating 2-D art on canvas and paper while creating music on computers. Currently, they are embracing the machine and discovering how to use technology to blur the lines between art, experimental music, philosophy, and storytelling. Megamoon X is Vela's collection of music, crude animation, and live vocal performance that tells the story of life on a dwindling lunar colony.
