A Movie Night at the Birdhouse Neighborhood Center? Let's get started with a great documentary film for election season this Sunday, Oct. 13, the day before Early Vote! Shown on PBS, "And She Could Be Next" tells the story of a defiant group of women of color— candidates and organizers—who are transforming politics from the ground up. Filmed throughout 2018 into 2019 and created by a team of women filmmakers of color, the film features a dynamic slate of history-makers, like Stacey Abrams (GA), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI), and Rep. Deb Haland (NM). We'll watch the first of two parts, 1 hour, 52 min, followed by a short discussion.
To make your Sunday night easier, we'll provide vegetarian beans and rice, water and lemonade for a quick potluck at 6:00 pm. If you're able, bring salsa, toppings, chips, guacamole, a salad…
