Neighbor Wins Prestigious Award

In 2000 Kay Newton of Luttrell Street was the recipient of the Robert Penn Warren award for short story fiction given by Southerner Magazine. Her story, The Chunk Party, won second place in the nationwide competition. This award is given to writers publishing for the first time using their real name. Kay has had other stories published under her "pen name". She has also had her poetry published. This is a nice honor for one of our talented neighbors!
